Choosing the Right Natural Deodorant for You
Natural deodorant is much better for your skin than the alternative. Antiperspirants stop your body from sweating out toxins, exactly what sweating is for. It does this by including aluminium in its ingredients. A natural deodorant on the other hand, is free from aluminium, parabens and phthalates, each of which can lead to more harm than good. By making the switch, you're effectively letting your body release all the chemicals it doesn't need, but still smelling fresh.
How to pick the best natural deodorant for you?
Decide on product type
First you need to decide the type of product you’d like to use. Do you prefer a roll on or would you like to apply with your fingers? There are multiple options for both deodorant types. Personally I like to see exactly how much I put on and go for deodorant in a tin, but some of our best sellers are roll-ons, packaged in cardboard.
Consider your ethics
Next consider your ethics. For example, if you’re vegan you can pick from a selection of deodorants free from beeswax. Or if you want to shop local, choose from natural deodorants made in the UK. You can do this by selecting your ethics from the left hand filter on all collection pages.
Sensitive skin?
If you have sensitive skin you may find you get a rash from natural deodorant. This is when bicarbonate of soda has been added to the ingredients. My top tip for combatting this is washing your armpits every night before bed, but if you still get a rash switch to soda-free deodorants. Pick your scent
Finally, the fun bit – pick your scent! Lots of different essential oils are added to these deodorants so you can really choose what you'd like to smell like.
