Natural and Biodegradable Sponges by LoofCo
LoofCo produce a range of completely natural and biodegradable sponges made from loofah. The loofah plant grows in Egypt and is part of the cucumber family. It is harvested once ripe, then peeled, deseeded and then left to dry. Inside the plant are a collection of fibres that once dry create the sponge. As it is a plant and nothing is added to it, it can literally go straight into your garden bin or compost once the loofah sponge has come to the end of its life. You can expect each sponge to last at least 3 months.
We love coming across brands such as LoofCo who have developed a natural solution to big problem. The sponge that you buy in the supermarket and use for washing up, or the sponge you use to clean your kitchen surfaces, bathroom, car or the sponge you use in the bath or shower, none of those can be recycled or will biodegrade. They just go straight into landfill.
This collection of products by LoofCo offer a natural solution to each of those. The loofah plant will grow twice, if not three times the size once wet. It really is a great plastic free alternative. Make the switch.
