Dental floss was first invented in New Orleans back in 1881. Designed originally to be made from silk thread, it was considered to be an essential part of the teeth cleaning routine by removing up to 80% of plaque. 

It wasn't until after World War II that dental floss began to be made from nylon. It became more freely available and by the 1970's flossing was an important part of cleaning your teeth. 

Modern day dental floss is still made from nylon. The dental floss that you can get in any supermarket or chemist is plastic and that string of plastic will make its way into nature, if you flush it, put it in the bin or put it down the sink. 

We provide a natural alternative. Our dental floss is made from silk, just like it used to be, it's also 100% biodegradable. We offer refill products too so that once you've got your glass dispenser there's no need to get another. The refills come in a small cardboard box. Problem solved.
