Collection: Lipstick

Lipstick has been around in one form or another for about 5000 years. It's previously been made from things such as beeswax, crushed bugs, mulberries, and ochre. Worn for a variety of reasons from puberty rituals to social status or in the UK before Queen Elizabeth I made it popular it was very much something that was associated with prostitution or acting.

It was Queen Elizabeth's icons pale skin and bright red lips that really helped to make lipstick popular. But it wasn't really until 1921 where it became acceptable in London to be seen with lipstick.

Nowadays it's part of a makeup routine for most people. Rarely available in anything but plastic packaging though. Beauty Made Easy is the first makeup brand we have come across who have created a truly plastic-free lipstick. Not only is it plastic-free, but it's also eco-friendly, vegan and biodegradable.
